The Egyptian Sterling Silver Scarab Pendant, Scarab was the ancient Egyptian god of the dawn, or creation. They believed that the winged scarab god Khepri flew across the sky each morning carrying the sun. On the back of Scarab, there are two signs of Cobra, sacred to Wadjet, the cobra goddess of Buto, who represented Lower Egypt and kingship. The cobra goddess Renenet was a fertility goddess who was sometimes depicted as nursing children and as protector of pharaoh.
